Compositions

Assigned to first choose a mood and bpm we want to use for our project. Day by day the song was built using loops, then adding chords in our chosen key, and lastly adding a  kick drum pattern to our beat.

Something I learned during this project was about triads which was what is purpose  of triads in songs and how to make one.

Challenged to make a beat revolving around the singing portions of the song ,Rushing Back. For the verses, chorus, and bridge we had to place loops, custom drum beats, and sound effects in order to remix.

While doing the project, I learned about a tatic that can be used when making remixes or even your own songs which is that you place the whole loop in and than just split up the regions of the loop and delete regions you do not want. This makes your song better because it makes it go to a song that has just 5 loops playing over singing audio to only 2 loops playing at the same time to create a more of energy , mood, and flow in your song.

This was  the first project we were assigned with in Soundtrack where we have to had use a variety of loops including drums, bass, melody to create a 60-90 seconds song.

From this assignment, I learned how to add fades to regions, adjust volume , pan, and automation to certain loops.

Having to create a 16 measure beat by having  chords on a synth sound in the first track, beats in the second track, than expanding the beats using other drum machines or extra sounds from the loop library or from soundbible.com. Lastly, we had to make sure we were matching the key of our song to the key of the chosen mode.

Learned where and how to add our own sounds that were downloaded from a different site into Soundtrap.
